Benefiting Stand Up & Play PGA HOPE

As we approach April, preparations are underway for the second annual Chip In for Veterans Fundraiser which will be held at the start of May. Thanks to the generous support of Hardees, the PGA HOPE Charleston Program was blessed to receive a paramobile for use at Wescott Golf Club.
The tournament is the opportunity for the Lowcountry community to chip in to help provide a hand up to the veterans in our community that have served our country and have battled injuries, illnesses, and challenges as a result of their service.
With the success of last year’s tournament and Hardee’s expanded role as title sponsor of the event, the tournament has evolved into a two-day event with twin fundraisers being held on Monday, May 1st at the Daniel Island Club and Tuesday May 2nd at Wescott Plantation Golf Club.
The event will again raise funds for Stand Up & Play and PGA HOPE Charleston, which benefit military and veterans’ charities. The Stand Up and Play Foundation was formed to help wheelchair users and other people with impaired mobility have the opportunity to stand up and participate in sporting, artistic and other daily events.
Meanwhile, PGA HOPE, the Military Pillar of PGA REACH, is a program co-sponsored by the PGA of America and the VA. Golf has proven to be an excellent form of therapy for many of the veterans as they have been able to trade nightmares and flashbacks for golf dreams and new friendships.
The first of the two fundraising events will be played at the Daniel Island Club on Monday, May 1st. The private club is the perfect host site for the fundraising event as it not only was the former venue of the Nationwide Tour Championship, but also is one of the host sites for PGA HOPE Charleston. The entry fee for this event will be $300 per person and it will include golf fees, lunch, dinner buffet and a silent auction. (Sponsorships Available)
Meanwhile, the second fundraising event will be played at the Wescott Golf Club on Tuesday, May 2nd. Wescott Plantation Golf Club is a 27 hole municipal course operated by the City of North Charleston and offers a challenge to golfers of all skill levels.
The course has served as host site for PGA HOPE Charleston program since it’s inception 18 months ago. The entry fee for this event will be $100 per person and it will include golf fees, lunch & BBQ buffet.
Various sponsorship packages are available for both tournament days ranging from hole signs up to major sponsorships. If you or your company are interested in sponsoring the tournament and giving our veterans a hand up, please visit the event’s website at for more details or by calling Perry Green; Tournament Director at (843) 871-2135.
Thank you in advance for the tremendous community support of this important fundraising event.
